Getting started
How do I start?
Sign up with your email and a password, then confirm your email by tapping the link we send you. Give your business a name and you are in.
A good first day: add your products in Stock with the price you sell at and what each one costs you, then record your first sale in Sell.
I created my account but the page did not change, or the email did not come.
After you tap Create account, the form is replaced by a Check your email screen with the address we sent to. If you still see the form, check the address you typed and try again.
The email can take a few minutes. Search your email for jèrè, and look in your spam or junk folder and in Promotions if you use Gmail. If it is in spam, tap Not spam so the next ones reach you. On the Check your email screen you can tap Send it again after a minute. If you typed the wrong address, tap Wrong address? Start again.
iCloud, Yahoo and Outlook often hide a message from a sender they have not seen before. Look in Junk, Spam, Bulk and All Mail. If you find it, tap Not spam, so the next ones reach you.
Nothing after 10 minutes? Write to support@solflightech.org from the same address you signed up with, and we will confirm you by hand. Please do not make a second account.
If you already have an account with that email, we do not send a new link. Sign in instead, or choose a new password from the sign-in page.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in page, tap Forgot password and type your email. We send you a link to choose a new one.
Wherever you type a password, tap Show at the end of the box to see what you typed, and tap Hide to cover it again.
Can I put Jèrè on my phone like a normal app?
Yes. On an iPhone, open Jèrè in Safari, tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up), scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then tap Add.
On an Android phone, open it in Chrome, tap the menu (three dots), then tap Add to Home screen or Install app. You can also find these steps in More.
The screen is too bright or too dark.
Go to More and find Screen colours. Choose Light, Dark, or Match my phone.
Selling and receipts
How do I record a sale?
Tap Sell in the middle of the bottom bar. Choose what was sold and how many, choose how the customer paid (cash, transfer, POS or on credit), then record the sale. Your stock goes down by itself.
A customer took goods and will pay later.
Record the sale and choose credit, then choose the customer (you can add a new one on the spot). If they paid part of it now, enter that amount and the rest is saved as what they owe you. Find it later under Owing.
How do I send a receipt?
After you record a sale you will see a Send a receipt box. Type the customer's number if it is not filled in, then choose how to send it: Send using any app opens your phone's own list (WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Telegram, Messages, or any other app), or tap WhatsApp, Text or Telegram. The app opens with the receipt written for you. Jèrè never sends anything on its own: you press send in the app you chose. You can also copy the receipt.
To send a receipt for an older sale, open More, then Sales.
I recorded a sale by mistake.
The business owner can cancel it: open More, then Sales, open the sale and tap Cancel this sale. You must give a reason, and the stock is put back. Sales are never erased, so your records stay honest.
How do I leave the Sale recorded screen?
Tap Done, back to home, or use any button on the bottom bar. Tap Record another sale to start the next one.
Profit and money
How is my estimated profit worked out?
Sales, minus what the items you sold cost you, minus your expenses. On the Today screen you can look at a day, week, month or year, and compare it with the one before.
It is an estimate because it is only as good as the costs and expenses you enter.
Why is a loan or my own money not counted as profit?
Money you put in yourself or borrow is not money you earned from selling, so it never counts as a sale or as profit. Record it in More, then Business capital, where it is kept apart.
Where do I record rent, transport and electricity?
In More, then Expenses. They are taken off your estimated profit. Only the business owner can see and add expenses.
How do I check that no cash is missing at the end of the day?
Open More, then Count my cash. Count the cash you have and type it in. We show what your records say you should have, and tell you if it matches or how much is short or extra.
If it does not match, open How this was worked out. Jèrè does not know whether an expense or stock you bought was paid in cash, so you add anything you paid in cash or took out there. A count changes nothing else: it is only a check. If you counted wrongly, cancel it with a reason and count again.
Can I be reminded about rent and other regular expenses?
Yes. Open More, then Expenses, and use Add a regular expense. Choose what it is for, the amount, whether it repeats every week or every month, and the first day it is due. When the day comes it shows there, and on your Business check-up, and you tap Record it now. Nothing is recorded by itself.
If you miss a week or a month, each missed one still shows, so you can record them one by one or tap Skip this time. Stop this for good ends it. Records you already made stay.
Can I keep a list of the people I pay?
Yes. Open More, then Staff pay. Add each person with their pay and how often you pay them. When pay is due, tap Record this pay and it is added to your expenses as Staff pay with their name, which comes off your estimated profit.
This is a simple reminder list. It does not work out tax or pension, it does not pay anyone, and the people you list do not need to use Jèrè.
Can I get the Business check-up by email?
Yes, if you want it. Open More, then Business check-up, and turn on Email me this every Monday. It is sent to the email you sign in with, every Monday morning, with the last 7 days against the 7 days before and what needs your attention. It is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off there at any time.
The email contains your business figures and the names of customers and suppliers who owe you or are owed money, so only turn it on if your inbox is private.
What is the Business check-up?
It is a short list of what is going well and what needs your attention, such as profit up or down against the week before, customers who owe you a lot, items running low, products sold for less than they cost, and cash that was short. Open it from the Today screen or from More.
It is worked out from your own records with fixed rules, so it never guesses a number. Each card shows the figures it is based on. It never records or changes anything for you.
Which products make me the most money?
Open More, then Which products make me money. It shows your best earners and the products that are not selling.
Money people owe me, and money I owe
How do I take a payment from a customer who owes me?
Tap Owing, tap the customer's name, then enter the amount and how they paid. They cannot pay more than they owe. If you enter one by mistake, the owner can cancel it with a reason.
How do I remind a customer to pay?
On the Owing screen, tap Remind next to their name. Your phone's list of apps opens with a friendly message written for you, so you choose WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Telegram or any other app. (If your phone has no such list, Remind opens the customer's page, where you can choose.) You can change the words, and nothing is sent until you press send. Saving the customer's phone number lets WhatsApp and Text open their chat directly: tap their name, then Edit name or phone.
How do I keep track of what I owe my suppliers?
Open More, then Money I owe suppliers. Add the supplier, then note each time you take goods on credit and each time you pay them. This only keeps track of what you still have to pay. It does not change your sales, your stock or your estimated profit.
Stock
How do I add a product or add more stock?
Open Stock. Tap Add product to create one with its selling price and cost. Open a product to add stock you bought or to correct a count. Every change is kept in its history.
I sell the same product in different sizes, such as 400ml and 600ml.
Add each size as its own product. When you add a product, type the name (for example Date syrup) and put the size in the Size or type box (for example 600ml). It is kept as Date syrup 600ml. Each size has its own price, cost and stock, and you pick the right one when you sell.
I typed a product name wrongly. Can I change it?
Yes. Open Stock, open the product, and change the name under Name, prices and warning level, then tap Save. The new name shows everywhere, including on your past sales. Only the business owner can change a name. Two products cannot have exactly the same name, so add the size to tell them apart.
The cost of a product changed.
Change it on the product. Sales you already recorded keep the cost they had at the time, so your past profit does not change by itself.
Cashiers and your team
How do I let a cashier use Jèrè?
Open More, then Team access, and create an invite code. Choose whether the cashier may see today's sales and what customers owe. Send the code to them in any app you like. They sign up, tap Joining someone else's business on the first screen, and enter the code. An invite code works for 7 days.
What can a cashier see?
A cashier can record sales, take payments from customers and look at stock. They never see your costs, profit or expenses. You decide whether they can also see today's sales and what customers owe. You can change this, or remove them, any time in Team access.
Working without internet
What can I do when the internet is down?
Open Jèrè as usual. If a screen cannot load, you land on a simple page that works without internet. At the top you can choose Sell, Payment, Stock, and, if you are the owner, Expense, Figures and New product.
Sell, Payment, Expense and New product are saved on your phone with the time they happened, and sent by themselves when the internet is back. Nothing is counted in your books until it is sent. A bar tells you how many are waiting, and More shows the list. If one cannot be sent, it is marked Needs a look with the reason, and you can discard it.
The first time, open Jèrè with internet, open the Sell screen, and let it finish loading. That saves your product list and customer names on the phone. You need to do this once, and again when you want the list refreshed.
What can I not do without internet?
Change a product's price or stock, cancel a sale, add a new customer, change the PIN or your account, and sell on credit to a customer who is not already saved. These need the internet.
A product you add without internet can be sold on that phone straight away, and is added to your stock for real when it is sent (other phones see it then). If its name is already used by another product, it is marked Needs a look, and any sale of it waits too. What a customer owes is not shown on the Payment tab. It is checked when the payment is sent. If it turns out to be more than they owe, it is marked Needs a look.
Can I see my figures and what customers owe without internet?
Yes, if you have a PIN. Each time you open Today and Owing with internet, Jèrè keeps a copy on your phone, locked with your PIN. Without internet, open the Figures tab and type your PIN to read them. They are marked with how old they are, and they leave out anything recorded since.
The copy is locked, but a 4-digit PIN cannot stop someone who copies your phone's storage to a computer and tries every number. So after 5 wrong PINs in a row, the copy is erased from the phone (it comes back the next time you open the screens with internet). Signing out or turning the lock off erases it too.
What if I sign out or lose my phone before a sale is sent?
Sales, payments and expenses still waiting are kept on the phone and are sent when you sign in again as the same person. Signing out asks first if anything is waiting. If the phone is lost, anything still waiting on it was never sent, so write those down again from your own notes.
App lock
What is the app lock?
When you open Jèrè the first time, it offers to set a 4-digit PIN. After that, if you have left Jèrè for 30 seconds or more (you locked your phone, the screen went blank, or you opened another app), or have not touched it for 5 minutes, it covers the screen and asks for your PIN. When you send a receipt or a reminder in another app, Jèrè allows you 3 minutes away before it locks. So nobody can look at your sales and profit if they pick up your phone.
We keep your PIN safely with your account, in a form we cannot read, so it works the same on any phone you sign in to. Wrong guesses are counted: after 5 wrong tries in a row the PIN is blocked and only your password can open Jèrè. Choose a PIN you will remember but others cannot guess.
I forgot my PIN, or got it wrong too many times.
On the lock screen, tap Forgot your PIN? Use your password, and enter the password you sign in with. Then choose a new PIN. After 5 wrong PINs in a row the PIN is blocked, and Jèrè asks for your password too.
How do I change my PIN or turn the lock off?
Open More and find App lock. Tap Lock now to lock Jèrè straight away, for example when you put your phone down. Tap Change PIN to choose a new one, or Turn off to stop using the lock. Both ask for your current PIN first. You can turn it on again there any time.
Your information
Can I download my records?
Yes. Open More, then My data and account, and download the records you want. On an iPhone the file goes to the Files app. If it will not open, press and hold it and choose Quick Look, or use Share and pick a spreadsheet app.
How do I delete my account?
Open More, then My data and account. Deleting removes your business and all its records for good, so download a copy first. Read the warning on that screen before you confirm.
Who can see my business records?
Only you and the people you invite. Our Privacy page explains what we keep and why, and the Terms page sets out the rules for using Jèrè.
Still stuck?
